Teaching Reading in the Elementary ClassroomUNM Gallup is a two-year branch campus of the University of New Mexico located approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque. The University of New Mexico established branch colleges to provide the highest quality of education for students pursuing post-secondary education at different locations throughout the state. Branch colleges respond specifically to the unique needs and multicultural backgrounds of their respective communities by offering community education programs, career and technical education including certificate and associate degree programs, and transfer programs that prepare students for upper division entry into colleges and universities. The Liberal Art & Education Division at UNM Gallup Branch is seeking a qualified temporary part-time faculty member to teach lower division classes in various courses or topics as specified above. UNM Gallup instructors are responsible for all aspects of any class they are teaching including but not limited to meeting face-to-face with the class during assigned times that may include evenings or weekends, content delivery, assignment development, grading assignments, reporting of grades, and assessment of student learning as outlined by the division chair. Positions are contingent upon need each semester as determined by student enrollment levels, current course offering matrix, and demand driven by graduation requirements. Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses. Candidates who are selected for these positions will report to the division chair.

Wages Adjunct Faculty are currently compensated on the basis of their credentials and credit hour course loads.
Salary range:
$1,135.26

We are one of four branch community colleges of the University of New Mexico and serve approximately 2200 students. Located in Gallup NM, approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, UNM-Gallup is situated in the Four Corners region and near the Navajo Nation, Zuni Pueblo and Hopi Reservation. The city of Gallup has a population of 22,000 and the surrounding areas provide an abundance of outdoor recreational activities, various museums and extraordinary cultural vibrancy, while maintaining a small-town feel.

UNM-Gallup serves a hugely diverse student population with 100+ full time and part-time faculty members. We are fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission offering Associate degrees, selected Bachelor's degrees, Career Technical Education certificate programs, and adult basic education (ABE/GED), workforce training and personal enrichment courses. UNM-Gallup serves multiple high school populations including McKinley Academy, Middle College High School and the Center for Career and Technical Education.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach a 4/4 course load in the area of mathematics and statistics, maintain an active scholarship/service record (as defined by the

), participate in monthly Division meetings and execute other relevant duties as agreed upon in conjunction with the division chair in an annual faculty-chair agreement.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
PhD in Mathematics, Statistics or a field related to MathematicsAt least 18 graduate semester hours in course work pertaining to Mathematics from an accredited institution
