RESPONSIBILITIES

Teach and supervise high school students at varying academic levels, both in academic and performance skills to prepare them for either college or entry-level work in the food service industry.

Key responsibilities include:

Instruct students on the fundamentals of food service careers including both front and back of house positions. Work with Integrated Instructors to implement lessons in English, Math and Science. Implement inquiry-based learning projects Work with local businesses to prepare students for co-ops and job shadows Civil Service Title Teacher Job Qualifications

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

NYS Certification in Culinary Arts 7-12; OR Associates degree or higher in Culinary Arts and 2 years' field experience in the food service industry, including day-to-day preparation of food for restaurants or other food service establishments; OR High School diploma or equivalent and four years' experience as stated above.
