Position Now Available:
Culinary Arts Training Specialist Overview Our Culinary Arts Training Specialist helps our individuals in their first step in preparing for entry-level employment in the culinary and food service industry. You will be responsible for designing and delivering a comprehensive training program.
Location:
Main St, Buffalo, NY 14214
Schedule:
Full Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00am -4:30pm Pay rate: $22-24/hr. based on experience Key Duties Develop, implement and conduct hands-on culinary curriculum Provides group and individualized instruction across agency programs and may train agency staff as needed Administer written and practical tests to measure participants' progress and proficiency Create volunteer opportunities that encompass the participants talents in culinary to better the community at large Manages budget, including costs and certifications, while maximizing enrollment and training space utilization Qualifications Bachelor's degree in the Culinary Arts and/ or a related field plus 1-year full-time experience in the industry as a chef and/or baker OR Associate's degree in culinary arts and/ or a related field plus 3-years full-time experience in the industry as a chef and/or baker OR High school diploma plus 5 years' full-time experience in the industry as chef and/or baker PLUS One year full-time direct service experience working with individuals with a disability is preferred. Have experience as an instructor of a culinary program and have a high degree of technical ability to relay information in a manner that provides a positive learning experience and instills a passion for the profession. Possess the administrative and technological skills adequate to build course materials and can demonstrate concern and sensitivity toward culinary trainees and their individual needs and learning styles. ServSafe Certified and Proctor Status preferred. If not obtained by time of hire must obtain status within six months of employment. Must have a valid NYS Driver's license, approved driving record and reliable transportation to all parts of greater Erie County area.
