Long Island City, Queens Schedule:
3 hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6 hour per week (afternoon)
Pay:
$25 to $50/hour Position Overview The instructor will lead engaging, age-appropriate culinary lessons for students in a classroom-based setting. This is a hands-on enrichment program focused on basic cooking skills, nutrition awareness, teamwork, and kitchen safety. This is a pilot program with strong potential for continued opportunities based on performance. Responsibilities Lead 5 structured Culinary sessions over 3 weeks Create simple, classroom-safe recipes (no open flame unless approved) Teach kitchen safety and food handling basics Manage materials and maintain a clean workspace Foster a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment Communicate professionally with school staff and KAFFA leadership Qualifications Experience teaching culinary arts, cooking, or food-based enrichment to youth Classroom management experience (afterschool or school-based preferred) Strong communication skills Reliable, punctual, and professional Background check required Preferred NYC DOE fingerprinting clearance Food Handler's Certificate Experience working in school settings Compensation $25 to $50 per hour All materials provided Opportunity for continued programming in additional schools
