Job Description About Keshequa Central School:
Keshequa Central School provides a range of rigorous programs that help students achieve. The district believes in supporting students and providing opportunities that will enable all students to develop their talents and pursue individual interests. Our mission is to understand each student's interests, needs, and ambitions in order to prepare all students for graduation with knowledge, character and the ability to lead successful lives. The district is situated between the beautiful Letchworth and Stony Brook State parks. There are two campuses, the Dalton Campus has one elementary (grades Prek-4), and the Nunda Campus has one middle school (grades 5-8) and one high school (grades 9-12).
Position Overview:
Keshequa Central School is currently seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Elementary Education Teacher (PreK-4) for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering a positive environment and contributing to the overall academic and social-emotional success of our students. You will collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and school leaders to develop comprehensive plans and strategies that enhance students' academic performance and social-emotional well-being.
Responsibilities:
Under the general supervision of Building Administrators, to meet the needs of students in academics and interpersonal skills; documenting teaching and student progress/activities, outcomes; addressing students' specific needs; providing a safe and optimal learning environment Participates in professional learning communities, provides instruction of essential standards, develops and utilizes lessons and assessments to provide and measure student learning. Coordinates with administrators and other teaching staff members to ascertain individual student's abilities and needs. Serves as a ready resource to students and parents to provide support that will lead each student to increased personal growth; serves as liaison between home and school. Continues to acquire professional knowledge and to learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research, and by maintaining professional relationships. Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping. Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
Job Qualifications Qualifications:
1. Valid New York State Certification in Elementary Education (K-6 or 1-6) required 2. Knowledge of Elementary Education principles, theories, testing, methods, etc. as well as proven methods of maximizing the educational experience of all students 3. Knowledge of differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles 4. Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans 5. Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students 6. Ability to use computer network systems and software applications as needed 7. Ability to organize and coordinate work 8. Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents 9. Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth 10.
