Job Description

A rewarding opportunity awaits for a dedicated educator passionate about inspiring middle school students in science. This full-time, onsite position offers a consistent schedule of 35 hours per week, beginning as soon as possible and continuing through June 10, 2027. You'll be working with general education students and collaborating closely with special education staff when necessary, focusing on a robust and engaging curriculum in a supportive school environment.
Desired Qualifications:
Active teaching certification/licensure appropriate for grade level and subject area Bachelor's degree required; eligibility for an emergency teaching permit if needed Prior experience teaching in an urban school setting Reliable transportation for daily onsite presence Proven ability to manage classroom dynamics and student behavior effectively Demonstrated mastery of science content and instructional techniques Familiarity with designing lesson plans aligned to Pennsylvania state and district standards Experience differentiating instruction and utilizing formative assessment in a diverse classroom Ability to complete and maintain up-to-date Pennsylvania clearances Comfort and adaptability with school and district policies and location School-based experience is essential
Role Responsibilities:
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for general education middle school science classes Deliver instruction that aligns with state standards and supports diverse learning needs through differentiation Collaborate with special education staff for any SPED students assigned Assess student performance and adjust instruction accordingly Foster a positive, safe, and well-managed classroom environment Maintain open communication with colleagues, administrators, and families A Zoom interview will be conducted as part of the hiring process.
