RCC's annualized enrollment of 3,700 credit students in 2024-2025 and almost 800 workforce and community development students are supported by almost 140 full-time employees and over 200 part-time/adjunct employees across two main campuses and four satellite sites. This part-time position will teach 'Introduction toMachining:
Measurement, Materials, and Safety' and 'CNC Level 1 Milling' at our Kilmarnock site. The successful candidate will teach students the fundamental knowledge of standard steel classifications and numbering systems. In addition, students will learn how to read precision measuring devices, shop and safety procedures, and inspection techniques. Students will be prepared to take the classic credential: Measurement, Materials, and Safety exam. The instructor will introduce to students basic machine shop practices, and instruct them on the set-up and operations of the computer numerical controlled (CNC) mill, covering tool set-up and adjustments of work and tool sets. Fundamental principles and applications of setup and operations of a CNC Mill will be taught. Students will be able to perform common inspection processes and generate a production run of parts to the given print tolerance. Students will be prepared to take the Level 1 CNC Mill Programming Setup & Operations exam. Teaching assignments and schedules may include evening on-campus assignments and daytime weekend classes. Extensive experience in the application of machinist processes in an industrial workplace setting. Considerable knowledge and demonstrated skills in machinist principles, processes, applications, software, and machines. Considerable knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) guidelines. Candidates should possess excellent written and oral skills and a commitment to community college philosophy and student success. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications. Candidates must be available to teach in-person classes in Kilmarnock.Additional Considerations:
Teaching experience in the discipline. Prior or current experience with curriculum development. NIMS Credential in Measurement, Materials & Safety. NIMS credential in CNC Mill Programming, Setup & Operations.Similar remote jobs
