Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students as a full-time Sign Language Interpreter on a contract basis near Alto, GA. In this essential role, you'll ensure seamless communication and meaningful participation for students and staff who are deaf or hard of hearing. You'll work regular school hours, contributing your skills to make a daily impact within an educational environment.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid national certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (such as EIPA, RID, or state-recognized equivalent) Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledgeable about Deaf culture Previous experience interpreting in an educational setting is highly valued Ability to collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and administrative personnel Professional, adaptable, and patient demeanor
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret classroom instruction, activities, and discussions in real time, facilitating understanding for students who use sign language Provide interpreting services for meetings, assemblies, and counseling sessions as needed Convey information accurately, respecting confidentiality and the integrity of communication Adapt interpreting style to meet individual student and classroom needs Support the educational and social development goals of students within the school community Enjoy the advantages of a full-time, 37.5-hour workweek along with a comprehensive benefits package.
