Job Description

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for implementing high-quality early childhood education and disabilities services within the Head Start program. Core functions include curriculum support, classroom coaching, developmental disabilities coordination, family partnership support, data monitoring, and ensuring full compliance with the Head Start Program Performance Standards. The role plays a key part in building a culturally responsive learning environment and integrating Ojibwe cultural components throughout curriculum and instruction.
Essential Functions:
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards
  • Support teachers in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum
  • Provide guidance to families regarding developmental concerns and evaluation processes provided by the program
  • Responsibilities for maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with Head Start Performance Standards
  • Responsibilities tied to communication and relationship-building
  • Collaboration with community departments to enhance educational and disabilities services
Job Duties:
  • Support teachers in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum
  • Conduct regular classroom observations using approved assessment tools
  • Provide reflective coaching, modeling, and professional development to teaching staff
  • Ensure lesson plans align with school readiness goals and Head Start Performance Standards
  • Monitor child assessments and data to ensure accuracy and use data to guide instruction for children
  • Monitor child assessment software system and maintain accurate developmental records
  • Assist with transitions for children entering kindergarten or moving between classrooms
  • Provide guidance to families regarding developmental concerns, evaluation processes, and community resources
  • Build and coordinate partnerships with community agencies to support disability related services and resources
  • Maintain accurate records of screenings, assessments, referrals, services, and provide data to early childhood manager monthly report
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA, FERPA, and IDEA
  • Oversee specialized services for children with disabilities, support
IFSP/IEP
development, and ensure integration into curriculum and classroom plans
  • Maintain screening, referral, and follow-up documentation
  • Assist in preparing program reports, monitoring reviews, and annual self-assessments
  • Work with early childhood manager to coordinate trainings on child development and disabilities services
  • Provide technical assistance to staff on positive behavior supports, classroom strategies, and individualized interventions
  • Collaboration with tribe cultural coordinator and lead teachers to ensure curriculum development and implementation of fully integrated Ojibwe cultural components
  • Provide individualized and group coaching to teaching staff
  • Model effective teaching strategies and support staff in continuous improvement
  • Directly supervises teaching staff including participation in hiring, scheduling, training, evaluating performance, and supporting professional development
  • Any other duties assigned by supervisor
Pay:
$21.00 - $25.00 per hour
