Job Description

Category Schools - General Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into an engaging high school environment as a Language Arts Teacher for the upcoming academic year. This contract position begins August 17th and concludes May 28th, offering the chance to make a daily impact through inspiring English Language Arts instruction. Work with a single campus and foster meaningful connections with students while supporting academic growth and literacy development. You'll collaborate with passionate colleagues and contribute to a culture of learning—all while enjoying a stable schedule: 35 hours each week, Monday through Friday, from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid teaching certification with English/Language Arts endorsement, or eligibility in Illinois Demonstrated experience instructing high school students in Language Arts or ELA Strong classroom management abilities and effective communication skills Familiarity with differentiated instruction and general education curriculum standards Commitment to creating an inclusive and dynamic classroom culture
Responsibilities and Key Duties:
Plan and deliver engaging Language Arts lessons aligned with curriculum standards Assess student progress and provide thoughtful, actionable feedback to ensure growth Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular projects and school-wide initiatives Adapt instructional strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners Maintain timely records of grades, attendance, and other required documentation Participate in professional development sessions and staff meetings Experience the rewards of supporting students' literacy journeys in a welcoming high school environment.
