Job Description

Electrical Controls Technician
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate's Degree in Technical Field, or Three plus years' relevant experience in maintenance or production
  • Familiarity with PLC programming.
  • Working knowledge in AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
  • Working knowledge of programming languages.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with several PLC languages and AC/DC motor drive knowledge.
  • Knowledge of LANs and field bus networking.
  • Wonderware MMI, Visual Basic, and SQL programming experience a plus.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Act as first line of production support and troubleshooting from automation.
  • Work as part of Project Teams.
  • Control System Hardware design and configuration.
  • Program, commission, and debug PLC programs.
  • Acquire knowledge of existing systems and remain current with system's upgrades.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce cost, increase efficiency, and improve quality.
  • Assist Maintenance and Production employees with troubleshooting.
  • Follow Environmental, Quality and Safety Management System procedures and requirements.
  • Ability to meet the essential job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as outlined in the job description.
  • Position # 2 Multicraft Maintenance Technician Install, disassemble, repair, and reassemble machinery such as pumps, gearboxes, and mechanical drives.
Follow blueprints, manuals, and schematics for task execution. Maintain equipment in line with company procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards. Diagnose machinery issues and collaborate with the Maintenance or Facility team. Replace/repair components like relays, switches, and motors. Troubleshoot and repair gearboxes, pumps, and pump seals. Adjust and calibrate instrumentation as required. Work with electrical components (fuses, relays, starters) in a 480V 3-phase system. Perform preventive maintenance tasks to avoid future breakdowns. Collaborate with production teams to address equipment issues efficiently. Perform welding and fabrication using MIG and TIG for mild steel and stainless steel. Communicate effectively with leaders and technicians on critical information. Request and track supplies and repairs needed for maintenance work. Log repair details in CMMS or report to the Maintenance Supervisor. Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to 5S standards. Maintain tools and comply with safety protocols, ensuring compliance with ISO standards Requirements Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field, or equivalent experience (e.g., Skilled Trades programs or military experience). 5+ years as an Industrial Electrician or Mechanic with relevant certifications (Journeyman, state/provincial license, or technical degree). Proficient with PLC and VFD programming. Experience in laser aligning motor couplings (both offset and angularity). Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, meters, and mechanical service tools. Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment. Strong team player with the ability to collaborate, train others, and support operational goals. Manual Machining experience is a plus
