Job Description

Required Qualifications 2-5 years of professional experience producing electrical design/drafting deliverables for industrial facilities (and/or similar complex projects), including exposure to low-, medium-, and high-voltage systems. Proficiency in AutoCAD, including layers, blocks, Xrefs, model/paper space, viewports, and sheet setup/plotting. Ability to read and apply markups and to coordinate electrical drawings with architectural, structural, mechanical, and civil backgrounds. Working knowledge of common electrical drawings and symbols (power, lighting, grounding/bonding, and low-voltage systems) and typical equipment such as panels, transformers, switchgear, and lighting fixtures. Familiarity with construction documents and coordination practices, including maintaining drawing organization, notes, and schedules. Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate clearly with engineers, project managers, and (as assigned) clients. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and PDF markup workflows. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities. Associate's degree, technical certificate in drafting/CAD, or equivalent relevant work experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, Revit (BIM), Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and BlueBeam Revu. Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and California-specific codes (CEC, Title 24). Experience organizing and analyzing engineering project data using Excel (tables, PivotTables, Power Query) and similar tools (e.g., schedules, equipment lists, load lists). In this role, you will produce high-quality industrial electrical design drawings in AutoCAD and collaborate closely with our engineers and project team to deliver clear, coordinated construction documents. This position is focused on drafting and design support for low-, medium-, and high-voltage systems, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, consistency, and coordination across disciplines. The ideal candidate has 2-5 years of hands-on experience drafting electrical projects, a strong eye for detail, and the communication skills to coordinate effectively with internal teams and, as assigned, with clients. Key Responsibilities Produce industrial electrical drawing packages in AutoCAD under the direction of an Electrical Engineer, including low-, medium-, and high-voltage one-line diagrams, plans, details, panel schedules, control schematics, and wiring diagrams. Set up and maintain drawing files (Xrefs, blocks, sheet layouts, plotting) and apply company/client CAD standards. Incorporate engineer markups and redlines accurately and promptly using AutoCAD and Bluebeam Revu. Coordinate drawing backgrounds and interfaces with architectural, structural, mechanical, and process/civil disciplines to support clash-free, constructible documents. Assist with electrical layouts and design documentation such as equipment schedules, circuiting, conduit/route diagrams, grounding/bonding details, and typical installation notes (as applicable to project scope). Support construction document deliverables across project phases (e.g., SD/DD/CD) including sheet organization, notes, legends, and basic specifications as assigned. Review project specifications, vendor cut sheets (as provided), and field information to support accurate drafting and coordination. Participate in internal coordination meetings and communicate drafting questions, design conflicts, and needed clarifications early. Perform site visits as needed to verify existing conditions, document field measurements, and support as-built documentation. Manage assigned tasks across multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining high quality, completeness, and attention to detail.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
