This role requires attention to detail, steady hand-eye coordination, and adherence to quality and safety standards to ensure reliable electronic assemblies. Key Responsibilities Perform hand soldering of electronic components, wires, and connectors Read and interpret work instructions, wiring diagrams and bills of materials (BOMs). Assemble and kit components and materials according to production schedules and specifications. Inspect solder joints and completed assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards (e.g., IPC standards). Maintain accurate production records, including job tracking and quality documentation. Identify and report defects, inconsistencies, or material shortages. Rework or repair defective solder joints and assemblies as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and (ESD-safe work environment.) if needed. Follow all safety procedures and company policies. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 1-3 years of experience in electrical soldering or electronic assembly (or equivalent training). Proficiency in hand soldering techniques (through-hole and/or surface mount). Ability to read and understand technical documentation and assembly instructions. Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity. Basic computer skills for data entry and tracking. Preferred Qualifications IPC-A-610 and/or
J-STD-001
certification (current or prior). Experience in kitting, assembly, or manufacturing environment. Familiarity with ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) handling procedures. Experience with testing equipment (multimeters, continuity testers, etc.). Physical Requirements Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Good vision (corrected if necessary) for detailed work. Steady hands and fine motor skills for precision soldering. Ability to lift up to 25-40 lbs. occasionally. Work Environment Production floor environment with moderate noise levels. Exposure to soldering fumes (proper ventilation and PPE provided). May require use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and gloves.
