Overview:
Electrical Technician - 1st Shift ? $21-24/hr | Hands-On Automation & Machine Building Opportunity Join a fast-growing automation team where your electrical skills play a direct role in building innovative custom machinery and automated systems. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on electrical assembly, troubleshooting, and working with advanced industrial equipment in a collaborative manufacturing environment. Position Overview The Electrical Technician is responsible for assembling, wiring, installing, and troubleshooting electrical systems for custom automation equipment. This role is heavily involved in bringing complex machines to life—from panel building through final machine integration and testing.
Job Duties:
Build and wire control panels from electrical schematics and layout drawings Perform full machine wiring including routing, terminating, and labeling cables Install and connect PLCs, HMIs, sensors, motors, drives, and industrial controls Troubleshoot electrical systems during assembly, debug, and final testing Support machine startup, commissioning, and validation activities Work closely with engineering teams to resolve design and functionality issues Update schematics and documentation with redline changes as needed Ensure all work meets safety standards, electrical codes, and quality expectations Assist with machine tear-down, packaging, and customer installations when required
Qualifications:
Associate degree in Electrical Technology or equivalent hands-on experience 2+ years of experience in panel building and/or machine wiring in an industrial or automation environment Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs Experience with PLC systems (Allen-Bradley preferred), HMIs, and industrial controls Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail Familiarity with NFPA 79, NEC, and industrial safety standards Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Preferred Experience:
Background in custom automation, robotics, or special machine building Experience with servo systems, VFDs, and networked control systems Previous field installation or startup/travel experience is a plus Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or genetic information.
