- competitive Electrician civil service list, Exam #3029.. The Division of Traffic Operations is seeking a skilled and dedicated Electrician to join our Electrical Operations Unit. This role involves working under supervision to install, repair, and maintain high
- and low-tension electrical systems that support lighting, heating, power, and communications across buildings, structures, and highways.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring systems, traffic signals, surveillance cameras, controllers, and related equipment in compliance with the NYC Electrical Code, pertinent plans, specifications, and job orders. Conduct diagnostic tests to identify faults and perform necessary repairs on existing installations. May serve as a field representative to resolve construction-related electrical issues in city facilities and external infrastructure. May be required to collaborate with contractors employed by the city on large-scale multi-million dollar projects, documenting the construction processes and infrastructure to ensure that a complete and accurate record exists for future projects and maintenance. Interpret specifications to order electrical equipment and supplies, including video and fiber optic components Some assignments may require a driver's license. Preference will be given to candidate who possess a driver's license valid in the state of New York with no restrictions.. This license must be maintained throughout the duration of the appointment in this position.Work Location:
