Electrician - Day Shift

Electrician Vaagen Bros. Lumber Inc. is a family-owned wood products manufacturer that has operated in northeastern Washington for over 70 years. We heavily believe in continuous improvement and respect for people and are currently in a Lean transformation. We operate sawmills in Colville and Usk, WA. Vaagen Bros. Lumber, Inc. currently employs over 175 employees. The primary role of the Electrician position is to troubleshoot and repair problems on plant facilities and production equipment with a continued focus on safety, and productivity. Desired candidate will be able to read and understand wiring schematics and blueprints and assist in preventative maintenance of all equipment. This individual needs to be a self-directed leader that works well in a team environment.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Read and understand wiring schematics and blueprints Assist in preventative maintenance of all equipment Experienced with Allen Bradley PLC and Logix 5000 Understand motor theory Familiar with 4-20 ma instrumentation, servo systems, positioning systems and assorted feedback devices Understand standard control circuit wiring and troubleshooting Know, Understand, and Apply the Lock-out Tag-out procedures Entry level laborer sawmill duties, including but not limited to, stacking boards, general cleanup, removal of wood waste and debris, and tending machines Maintain a clean and safe work area. Ensure tools, supplies, and equipment are in their "home locations" at all times Maintain lines of communication with other team members Learning and applying lean business practices Fill out a maintenance request and Idea Cards when needed Other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Work well under pressure, self-directed leader, and troubleshooting skills

Preferred:

Electrical Certification or Degree Ensure safe work practices & follow safety procedures Dependable and reliable with a good attendance record Ability to streamline processes and cut waste within area of responsibility Lean techniques and experience preferred Must be 18+ years old to work in an industrial sawmill environment Must have HS Diploma/GED Must be able to continuously stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders safely. The weight required to be lifted each normal workday may occasionally exceed fifty (50) pounds at a time Applicants will be subject to a criminal background check.
