Posted Until Filled Position Summary Mountainburg Public Schools is seeking a passionate and student-centered Elementary Music Teacher who will inspire a love for music in students while also assisting with the senior high band program. The successful candidate will provide engaging music instruction for elementary students, foster student creativity and appreciation for music, and support the continued growth and success of the district's band program through collaboration and performance assistance. The ideal candidate will build positive relationships with students, staff, and families while creating a classroom environment that encourages participation, creativity, and musical growth. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide music instruction for elementary students in grades K-6 through vocal, instrumental, movement, and music appreciation activities. Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned to Arkansas Fine Arts Standards. Teach fundamental music concepts including rhythm, melody, harmony, performance, listening, and music literacy. Foster student creativity and confidence through performance opportunities and classroom participation. Organize and direct elementary music performances and programs throughout the school year. Assist with the senior high band program including rehearsals, performances, competitions, concerts, pep band activities, and other assigned responsibilities. Collaborate with the band director and district fine arts staff to support continuity and growth within the music program. Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and materials appropriate for diverse learning styles and abilities. Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and grades as required by district policy. Establish and maintain positive communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities. Create and maintain a safe, respectful, and positive classroom environment. Assist with inventory, organization, care, and maintenance of music equipment and instruments. Participate in faculty meetings, professional learning communities, professional development, and district activities. Supervise students during instructional and non-instructional times as assigned. Comply with all district policies, state regulations, and Arkansas Department of Education requirements. Perform other duties as assigned by administration. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree required. Must hold, or be eligible to obtain, appropriate Arkansas teaching licensure in Music Education. Vocal and instrumental music experience preferred. Experience working with elementary students and/or band programs preferred. Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, parents, and administration. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
