SY26-27 ELEMENTARY SPECIAL EDUCATION BLT REPRESENTATIVE - TIER B
- $1,500 2026-2027 (one special education teacher per elementary school) PURPOSE The Elementary Special Education BLT Representative will serve on the Building Leadership Team (BLT) to support the School Logic Model. This representative also serves as a liaison between the special education team, the principal, BLT, and the Core Instruction Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES 1
) Participate in the Building Leadership Team (BLT): Attend and actively contribute to weekly hour-long BLT meetings, focusing on supporting the School Logic Model implementation and the improvement of instructional practices at the grade level.

They will serve to raise the voice and perspective of special education in the school.
Output:
Evidence of active participation and collaboration in BLT discussions, contributing to ongoing improvements in instructional strategies and alignment with the School Logic Model. 2)
Develop Monthly Meeting Agendas:
Design and distribute month meeting agendas for special education team members, utilizing resources and protocols from the Core Instruction Department. Share resources and information from BLT meetings and District Department meetings.
Output:
Clear, organized agendas sent out ahead of meetings, ensuring all necessary instructional topics are addressed and time is used efficiently. 3) Serve as a member of the District's Special Education Committee. This team would meet monthly (in place of your scheduled BLT meeting) with the Student Services administration to bring up and discuss current issues, problem solve, collaborate with different buildings, and review the Special Education Workload plan yearly. 4) Leading Teaching Teams New and experienced special area team leaders are invited, but not required to participate in 3 after school professional learning/coaching sessions (1 per trimester; 1 hour per session). Representatives may submit timesheets for these sessions.
