Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic emergency response team as an Emergency Medical Technician - Basic, where you will play a vital role in delivering prompt, compassionate, and high-quality pre-hospital care to patients in urgent situations. This energetic position requires a proactive individual who thrives in fast-paced environments, demonstrating excellent patient assessment skills and the ability to operate emergency medical equipment confidently. As an EMT - Basic, you will be responsible for providing essential life support, ensuring patient safety during transport, and collaborating effectively with healthcare professionals to deliver seamless emergency care. Your dedication and expertise will help save lives and make a meaningful difference in our community. Duties Respond swiftly to emergency calls, assessing patient conditions and providing immediate care using basic life support techniques. Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history collection to determine appropriate interventions. Manage airway obstructions and administer injections or medications as prescribed within scope of practice. Operate and maintain emergency medical equipment such as ventilators, suction devices, and DME (Durable Medical Equipment). Conduct triage at the scene to prioritize patient needs based on severity, especially in Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma situations. Transport patients safely while monitoring vital signs, providing critical care transport when necessary, and ensuring proper documentation of all procedures performed. Maintain strict aseptic techniques during procedures like venipuncture or injections to prevent infection. Communicate clearly with hospital staff regarding patient status and treatment provided during handoff. Adhere to all safety protocols including heavy lifting techniques, driving safety regulations, and emergency medicine standards. Qualifications Valid EMT - Basic certification with current state licensure required. Prior experience in critical care settings such as hospital emergency rooms or trauma centers highly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in airway management, vital signs monitoring, and patient care procedures. Experience with triage protocols and emergency medicine practices essential for rapid decision-making. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medication administration protocols necessary for effective patient assessment and treatment. Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking during emergencies. Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely while adhering to traffic laws and safety standards. Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and healthcare providers seamlessly.
