Emergency Room Nurse (RN) - Eatonton, GA

Category Nursing - RN-ER Job Type Contract Seeking a skilled Emergency Room Registered Nurse to deliver compassionate, high-quality care in a busy emergency department. This contract opportunity suits professionals eager to make a direct impact, serving patients with diverse, acute medical needs. The emergency unit features 22 beds plus surge capacity, averaging 85 patients per day, and operates with robust clinical support including 24/7 hospitalists, intensivists, and rapid-response teams. The unit is also supported by pharmacy, respiratory therapy, and central telemetry technicians.

Qualifications:

Active RN license (Georgia) Minimum 2 years of recent ER nursing experience

BLS, ACLS

certifications required BCR (Basic Cardiac Rhythm) certification required PALS, TNCC, and National Emergency Nursing certification preferred but not mandatory Strong critical care skills, proficiency in reading cardiac strips Comfortable working with EMR systems (EPIC) Skilled in IV medication drips, phlebotomy, and telemetry monitoring Willingness to float within the ER or occasionally to a nearby facility

Responsibilities:

Assess, plan, and implement care for patients presenting with a wide range of emergency conditions, including chest pain, stroke, diabetes complications, trauma, and mental health concerns Manage patient medication drips and interpret cardiac rhythms Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary care teams—physicians, respiratory therapists, and unit secretaries Respond to emergencies and coordinate rapid interventions when needed Utilize advanced monitoring equipment and technology to deliver safe, consistent care
