Job Description

The Emergent Ground Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of emergent ground crews by assigning and distributing work, facilitating scheduling needs, assisting with tracking and resolution of equipment and vehicle issues, and promoting positive customer relations within the service area. This position will work with the clinical, education, and fleet maintenance departments during the orientation process. This position will assist ground crews on difficult or unusual assignments and will coordinate with other Life Flight Network (LFN) departments and managers when issues may arise. The Emergent Ground Supervisor is responsible for supervising timely, safe, and compassionate care to patients of LFN within their scope of practice and division. This position maintains proficiency in the operational role of the bases responsible. The Emergent Ground Supervisor may work varied shifts and will be required to drive personal or company vehicles whenever and wherever business needs necessitate.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduate or equivalent. Current licensure and/or certification as listed below: State Paramedic Maintains licensure and certification required for operational role. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) completion Minimum of 3 years' experience as a licensed driver or operator and experience as a licensed caregiver administering medical care transporting patients State issued driver's license with an insurable driving record Ability to communicate, show proper decision making and lead a variety of people, one-on-one and in large groups, often in highly stressful situations Customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of organization Travel by personal or company vehicle throughout LFN's service area is required. Must have an automobile in good repair and be able to provide proof of auto insurance. Ability to learn and enforce LFN policies and procedures
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees day-to-day operations of ground crew. Direct, monitor, communicate with, and evaluate all ground crew employees in assigned area. Work alongside crews to complete daily checks and complete end of shift duties as required. Works to deliver age appropriate (Pediatric, Adult, Geriatric) patient care Assists and supervises crewmembers as needed to provide accurate and complete patient care documentation per the standards established by LFN Maintains and files transportation documentation Assists with equipment retrieval and return to appropriate agencies Works with fleet manager and on-duty crews to coordinate and assist with fleet vehicle maintenance Acts as liaison between ground crew and clinical management. Directs employees to management and/or other departments to encourage utilization of resources available. Provides guidance and information to staff regarding LFN operations, policies, and procedures Review of employee timecards in coordination with the Clinical Manager Create schedules and ensure adequate staffing in coordination with the Clinical Manager Timely investigation of incidents involving assigned units or personnel, including filing of internal and external reports Ensures maintenance of adequate levels of staffing, equipment, and medical supplies for field units Supplies management in coordination with the Clinical Manager Maintains communication with other departments including Communications Center and Fleet and Facility Maintenance Prepares reports and manages projects as assigned by Clinical Manager, Director of Clinical Services, or Chief Clinical Officer Encourages a favorable public opinion of LFN through personal contact with patients, community agencies and hospitals Assists clinical education with crew task completion, driver training, and continuing education Maintains a positive and inclusive workplace environment that aligns with LFN Standards of Conduct Performs other related duties as assigned
