Engineer

Overview:

YOTEL Miami is seeking an experienced Engineer who is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the hotel's physical facilities and equipment to ensure a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for guests and employees. This position performs routine maintenance, responds to service requests, and assists with preventative maintenance programs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform general maintenance and repairs to hotel facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house, and exterior areas Repair and maintain plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, and carpentry systems Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment and systems Troubleshoot and repair fixtures, appliances, lighting, doors, locks, and furniture Maintain boilers, pumps, motors, and other mechanical equipment (as applicable) Follow all safety procedures and OSHA regulations Maintain accurate maintenance logs and work orders Coordinate with vendors and contractors when necessary Ensure compliance with hotel policies, local building codes, and health and safety regulations Assist with room turns, renovations, and special projects as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum 2-5 years of hotel or building maintenance experience preferred Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general mechanical systems Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication and customer service skills Knowledge of all maintenance trades, including basic electrical, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical and carpentry Skill in the use of basic hand and electric tools and familiarity with parts and materials is required Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.
