We are seeking a hard-working, skilled, and efficient full-time Engineer I who can create a sense of luxury while executing basic repair and maintenance needs. We look forward to connecting with you!
Position Summary:
The Engineer I is an entry-level position, responsible for the upkeep of all exterior and interior areas of property daily and repairing on hotel equipment as assigned by the Chief Engineer. They will help maintain the appearance and functionality of The Cliffs HotelSpa property-wide, and will uphold The Cliffs Mission and Values.Essential Functions of the job:
Onsite work only Inspects hotel grounds and takes action daily for cleanliness, general repair issues, and trash pickup Maintains the exterior of the hotel property including trimming hedges, repairing fences, trash pickup, etc. Responds to facility maintenance requests from guests and staff through in-house ticket management programs, updating with notes and addressing issues in a timely manner, escalating to Chief Engineer when appropriate Cleans and maintains pool and hot tub daily, if certified Repairs minor guest room issues, either through the Preventative Maintenance (PM) Program or via guest/management request Completes basic plumbing, HVAC, and electrical repairs as needed Assists with any needed tile, paver, carpet and vinyl flooring repair and installation throughout property Painting as requested by Chief Engineer. Make repairs to hotel, spa, and restaurant equipment as requested by Chief Engineer. Operates power tools such as drills, saws, and sanders safely and as directed Complies fully and consistently with all the hotel conditions of employment and standards of uniform, grooming, and personal hygiene. Communicates clearly and professionally with guests, management, and co-workers. Attends and reports on time for all meetings and training sessions scheduled by management. Recognizes and reacts to potential safety hazards and security problems in the hotel and act accordingly, as directed by Company policies, OSHA guidelines, and any local/state ordinances and/or laws Completes all other tasks as assigned by manager Additional Job Duties Flexible work schedule Able to work nights, weekends and holidaysEducation, Experience, Skills:
High school diploma 1-2 years of hotel, lodging, or resort engineering experience preferred Working knowledge of basic maintenance (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc) Good command of English language. Ability to work with people effectively. Ability to multitask and work in mentally demanding situations. Ability to self-monitor tasks given throughout the day. Must be able to communicate and work effectively with co-workers in all departmentsPhysical Requirements:
Ability to stand continuously for the duration of the shift (eight hours).
