Full Job Description About Us:
Caelux Corporation is a perovskite technology company developing innovative perovskite-coated glass that replaces the front glass in traditional silicon solar panels. The perovskite glass absorbs and converts visible and UV light to electricity more efficiently than silicon and improves overall module efficiency by up to 30%. Caelux sells the glass to the traditional silicon module manufacturers (a 300GW/year worldwide industry), who incorporate it into their product with minimal changes to their existing processes and equipment.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Solar Module Assembly and Packaging Engineer III to develop final-step processes and product design that integrate seamlessly with customer factories. It is critical for Caelux's success that we can quickly and flexibly design products that meet each customer's specifications for routing and fixturing of electrical conductors within Caelux glass, design and deploy product packaging that protects our product while meeting the requirements of customer glass loading equipment, and support customers with lamination recipes and materials that can successfully incorporate Caelux glass. The Solar Module Assembly and Packaging Engineer III will support product development, process development, testing, and continuous improvement for:
  • Panel conductor routing and conductor fixturing
  • Protective coating materials selection, equipment selection, and process development
  • Lamination recipe development and materials qualification
  • Packaging solutions The ideal candidate brings hands‑on engineering experience in one or more of these areas, and is excited to deep-dive into learning other processes and equipment as needed to fulfill these functions.
This is an individual contributor role requiring strong technical judgment, documentation discipline, and a willingness to self‑teach and collaborate across manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams. Key Responsibilities Develop, evaluate and improve methods for applying conductors and protective coating layers to Caelux glass. Support development, optimization, and validation of lamination processes, including material selection, process parameters, tooling, and quality controls Lead improvement of packaging designs, engaging with consultants and third-party test labs as necessary. Analyze test data, identify root causes of failures, and implement corrective actions Create and maintain engineering documentation, including work instructions, test reports, drawings, and specifications Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to support production readiness and continuous improvement initiatives Support troubleshooting of lamination or packaging issues in a manufacturing environment. May involve travel to partner sites. Demonstrate initiative in learning unfamiliar processes or standards through self‑study, experimentation, and collaboration
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Materials, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related field) Minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience in a manufacturing or product development environment Hands‑on experience in at least one of the following: Solar module lamination processes Solar module stringing and bussing assembly operations Roll-coating or screen printing and curing of polymer coatings Packaging design, testing, and qualification for heavy or industrial goods Ability to analyze data, document results, and communicate technical findings clearly Comfortable working in a hands‑on, fast‑paced manufacturing setting
Preferred Knowledge:
