  • Friday Job Overview The Engineering Project Manager plays a key role in executing assigned engineering tasks.
This includes leading capital improvement projects for production facilities, managing budgets and timelines for equipment installations and facility upgrades while minimizing operational disruption. Key Responsibilities Leads and supports capital improvement projects for production facilities, including installation of new processing equipment, packaging lines, and utility infrastructure while ensuring minimal disruption to manufacturing operations. Manages project budgets, timelines, and resources for facility upgrades, expansions, and equipment modernization projects ranging from small-scale improvements to multi-million dollar installations. Coordinates with cross-functional teams including production, quality assurance, maintenance, and regulatory compliance to ensure all projects meet food safety standards and
FDA/USDA
requirements. Oversees equipment vendors, contractors, and engineering firms throughout project lifecycles, from design and procurement through installation, commissioning, and final validation. Develops and implements project plans that optimize production efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve product quality while maintaining compliance with dairy industry regulations and sanitation standards. Conducts feasibility studies and ROI analysis for proposed projects, presenting recommendations to senior leadership and tracking post-implementation performance metrics to ensure business objectives are met. Min. Qualifications Minimum of GED or High School Diploma is required, STEM degree preferred Minimum 3-5 years' experience in formal project management Experience with building construction preferred Experience working in a food manufacturing environment preferred Byrne Headquartered in LaFayette, Byrne is a Central New York-based dairy company with a legacy spanning over 90 years. Its operations include an extended shelf-life (ESL) and ultra-high temperature (UHT) pasteurization plant in DeWitt, as well as an ESL manufacturing facility in Cortlandville. Byrne also maintains warehouse facilities in Syracuse and East Syracuse, along with a dedicated ice cream center in Syracuse.
