In the role of Technician, you will be responsible to work with engineers in component test evaluation efforts with core responsibilities to include: Support design of new test apparatus as required Own the setup, instrumentation, assembly, calibration and specimen preparation of lab test frames Independently run lab tests and perform necessary data checks to ensure data quality Support hardware and software architecture and programming of Data Acquisition Systems Interface with internal and external shops, vendors and team members, including project engineers, test/machining associates and facilities maintenance associates. Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with test apparatus. Coordinate and work closely with teammates to execute lab team objectives Ownership of developing test documentation including facility, frame build, and data sets Qualifications/Requirements High school diploma. An Associates Degree in a technical and/or relevant test or engineering experience is a plus. Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted. Familiarity with the assembly and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems. Familiarity with the use of measurement devices and data acquisition. Desired Characteristics Highschool Diploma / 2 yr Technical Degree preferred Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong math skills. Comfortable utilizing standard precision measuring instruments such as micrometer or vernier calipers. Comfortable with MS Word and MS excel. Lab experience, Hydraulic or Electronics background would be a plus Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to work independently with minimal guidance. Effective problem identification and solution skills. Demonstrated success in a cross-functional team environment Be willing and capable of working in a hands-on testing environment Experience using and/or programming Labview or other data acquisition systems This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology.
