E8 Engineering is partnering with a prestigious aerospace client to hire a Senior Quality Engineer - Space Division to embed directly into the daily operations of key supplier facilities. If you have deep machine shop expertise, thrive in driving QMS excellence, and take real pride in mission-critical quality oversight, this role was built for you. This is a 3-month contract role requiring on-site presence at supplier locations to ensure flawless execution and mission assurance. What You'll Own You will be the lead quality authority embedded at key supplier sites, actively shaping QMS robustness and driving supplier manufacturing performance.

Supplier Surveillance & Auditing:

Conduct continuous audits and surveillance of supplier execution, reporting on manufacturing performance, schedule adherence, and resource allocation.

QMS Optimization & Compliance:

Optimize QMS processes to ensure strict alignment with AS9100, AS9102, and specific program requirements.

First Article Inspections & Protocol Oversight:

Oversee First Article Inspections (FAI) and consult on the development, implementation, and maintenance of inspection protocols for precision space components.

Root Cause & Corrective Action:

Manage CAR/PAR processes, dig into nonconformances, identify root causes using standard methodologies (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone), and drive fixes that stick.

Cross-Functional Mission Assurance:

Partner with Quality Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Program Management teams to ensure overall process robustness and mission success. What Our Customer Is Looking For B.S. in Engineering or a related technical field from an accredited institution (Master's preferred) 10-20 years of quality engineering experience in aerospace/space machine shop environments Proven expertise in QMS processes, AS9100 compliance, and advanced precision inspection techniques Strong background in FAIs (AS9102), root cause analysis, and corrective action methodologies (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) Demonstrated program management capabilities and the ability to lead complex quality initiatives Deep familiarity with nonconformance management systems and supplier surveillance Bonus Points For...
