What to Expect
Tesla's Aerodynamics team is seeking an Aerodynamics Engineer to develop groundbreaking new products from conception through volume production. The role focuses on delivering class-leading efficiency and performance while collaborating with design, vehicle engineering, and program management teams to meet aggressive aerodynamic targets. What You'll Do
Work alongside designers to define products that are aerodynamically efficient and aesthetically pleasing
Develop aerodynamic concepts in CAD and evaluate them using CFD and numerical tools
Define and execute wind tunnel, road, and track test programs
Analyze test and simulation results and present findings to stakeholders
Implement innovative techniques to improve data accuracy and fidelity
Provide regular feedback to program teams on aerodynamic attributes and development status
Develop tools and methods to advance team capabilities What You'll Bring
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
At least 3 years of experience in top-level aerodynamics development
Proven track record of aerodynamic design ability
Detailed knowledge of CFD fundamentals and experience with CFD software such as STAR-CCM+
Experience conducting aerodynamic testing in wind tunnels and on track
Familiarity with CAD for creating and manipulating 3D surface geometry such as CATIA or 3DX
Understanding of coding and large dataset analysis for engineering applications Compensation and Benefits

Expected Compensation
$87,020 - $262,200/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
