Aerospace Quality Engineer

Job Description

Alpha Q, Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer! In this role, you will provide technical expertise in quality engineering, inspection methods, and process improvement. This is a first shift position and will be located at our Colchester, CT manufacturing facility. Our mission is to put our people first in every decision we make. Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the position to include, but not limited to: Support APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), feasibility studies, customer requirements, and new launch programs Support FAIR (First Article Inspection Report) process Support corrective actions and quality improvement efforts, with a focus on identifying root causes and preventing recurrence Provide primary DQR (Designated Quality Representative) coverage and develop the knowledge needed to provide reliable quality support Develop and maintain inspection processes, including bubbling drawings and manufacturing operations, and creating operator check sheets using High QA Inspection software Support the development of electronic first piece inspections, including the High QA to ProShop connection and conversion of legacy parts and CMM programs Provide CMM and manual inspection support as needed and help maintain effective receiving inspection processes and quality controls Serve as a technical resource for quality issues, process risk, customer concerns, and improvement opportunities while helping develop quality knowledge and backup resources Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
3 - 5 years' experience in aerospace Quality Engineering preferred Experience with PC DMIS for Hexagon CMM's, CAD tools, and GD&T Working knowledge of various handheld inspection devices and gages Strong mathematical skills, analytical, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail Punctual, reliable, and willing to work overtime as deemed necessary by supervisor to meet customer demands Familiarity with High QA and ProShop ERP software is preferred

Hours:
We work a 4-day workweek.
