Job Title:
Aerospace Test Engineer
Position Description:
Protingent Staffing has an exciting direct hire Aerospace Test Engineer with our client located in Washington, DC.
The Aerospace Engineer is responsible for High-speed Wind Tunnel Testing and data analysis.
Responsibilities include preparing, executing, and analyzing experimental aerodynamic test campaigns to validate the performance of advanced aerospace vehicles and missile systems.
In this hands-on role, the engineer will collaborate with design teams to translate aerodynamic objectives into concrete test procedures and safely operate wind tunnel facility hardware.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include assembling and instrumentingplex sub-scale models with strain-gage balances, pressure scanners, and flow-visualization sensors, as well as developing automated data acquisition routines.
Responsibilities include monitoring real-time data quality during active wind tunnel runs, the reduction and analysis of large experimental datasets, and documentation of aerodynamic coefficients to validateputational fluid dynamics (CFD) models.
Job Qualifications:
Preferred 2 years of experience in a relevant aerospace engineering discipline involving aerodynamic or aerothermal analysis.
Preferred 2 years of direct experience in an aerodynamic laboratory or testing facility (experience at the university level is considered relevant)
Strong proficiency with data acquisition and analysis tools such as LabView and MATLAB.
Working knowledge ofputational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools such as Star?
CCM, CBAero, Cart3D, and TAOS.
Proficiency with CAD software, such as Siemens NX Design or SolidWorks.
Excellentmunication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
