FLIGHT TEST ENGINEER - SME
for the TMAS2_96TW Contract, supporting the Air Force Division located on the
EGLIN AFB, FL. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
Must have an Active SECRET clearance Master's degree in an applicable discipline, preferably in mechanical, electrical, or aerospace engineering. Ten (10+) years of flight test experience is required. Requires knowledge of professional engineering concepts, principles, and techniques including substantive experience in the field of test and evaluation of new or modified weapon systems. Subject Matter Experts are typically identified as recognized Industry leaders for a given area of expertise.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
Experience working with Operational or Developmental Test organizations is highly desired. Proficiency in the use and integration of Microsoft Office applications. Experience with range operations, safety, scheduling, and airspace use. Knowledge of Eglin-based flight test processes and procedures, especially Developmental Test and Evaluation Flight Safety Course, Weapons School or Test Pilot School.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops and plans test strategies, writes test plans, and publishes test reports using a working knowledge of military test and training range operations, flight safety, scheduling, and airspace restrictions. Writes test procedures, test cards, and conducts test events and writes test event reports. Leads test teams comprised of test engineers, data scientists, technicians, maintenance, flight schedulers, pilots, and aircrew. Manages test schedules for multiple lines of test and aircraft conducting concurrent operations. Applies a strong understanding of current fighter tactics and weapon system capabilities to test planning, execution, and reporting activities. Plans and programs Hardware and Software test series and individual test missions. Interfaces with weapon system prime contractors and the government System Program Office (SPO) regarding test objectives, schedules, budgets, and Methods of Test. Typically works on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program. Coordinates aircraft modification schedules and availability of program-owned special test equipment. Travels to defense contractors' facilities, out-of-state test sites, and other locations for periods of time in support of various test programs. Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Must be able to work effectively as part of a test team, and to lead and direct the work of others. #CJ #LI-LP1 "TMAS2_96TW" #
