Systems Engineer - Aircraft Recorders
ABOUT THE JOB
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Engineer to lead the design, development, integration, and testing of advanced avionics systems for aerospace platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in avionics architecture, systems engineering processes, and regulatory compliance, with a proven ability to manage complex projects and mentor junior engineers.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Bachelor's or Master's degree in system engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field. 8+ years of experience in avionics systems engineering, or prior relevant experience Strong knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle and requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS). Experience with embedded systems, real-time software, and hardware/software integration. Familiarity with ARP-4754, MIL-STD, ARINC, and RTCA standards. Experience with system validation, system integration, lab testing, and flight test support. Experience preparing and reviewing certification documents. Excellent communication, documentation, and project leadership skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal skills Accountable and takes ownership of assigned tasks Self-motivated and takes initiative to get things done Ability to be successful despite ambiguity
PREFERRED SKILLS
Experience with data recorder products including Flight Data Recorders (FDR), Cockpit Voice Recorders (CVR) and Combined Voice & Data Recorders (CVDR). Familiar with crash survivability and data recovery standards. Familiarity with DO-160, DO-178, DO-254, and ED-112 standards. Knowledge of System Safety, Functional Hazard Assessments, and Fault Tree Analysis
