at Insight Global, LLC in East Alton, Illinois, United States Job Description Job Description Insight Global is seeking an Aerospace Engineer to support a growing Part 145 aircraft maintenance operation. This individual will serve as a technical authority responsible for analyzing aircraft structural and systems issues, developing FAA -compliant repairs, and providing engineering support directly to maintenance operations. This role is highly hands-on and requires an engineer who can independently evaluate damage, research technical documentation, substantiate repairs, and provide on-wing support to improve aircraft availability and fleet reliability. The ideal candidate comes from an airline or regional airline environment where they have directly supported an active fleet of aircraft. Common titles for comparable experience include Fleet Engineer, Liaison Engineer, Repair Development Engineer, Structures Engineer, or Aircraft Repair Engineer. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Analyze aircraft structural damage and develop FAA -compliant repair solutions Research aircraft maintenance, structural, and component manuals to determine repair feasibility and maintenance requirements Provide direct engineering support to maintenance operations and technicians during troubleshooting and repair activities Evaluate recurring aircraft reliability issues and drive long-term corrective actions Support Aircraft on Ground ( AOG ) situations by performing root cause analysis and developing repair recommendations Create repair drawings, engineering dispositions, technical reports, and maintenance documentation Coordinate with maintenance teams, manufacturers, vendors, and customers to resolve complex technical issues Lead fleet reliability initiatives focused on increasing aircraft availability and reducing maintenance-related costs Participate in customer meetings and provide technical guidance regarding repair strategies and maintenance concerns Travel periodically to customer and maintenance locations to support operational needs We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Skills and Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related Engineering discipline 3+ years of aerospace engineering experience supporting operational aircraft fleets Experience independently analyzing and substantiating aircraft structural repairs Extensive experience researching and interpreting aircraft technical documentation including: AMM (Aircraft Maintenance Manual) IPC (Illustrated Parts Catalog) SRM (Structural Repair Manual) CMM (Component Maintenance Manual) Experience authoring or developing FAA -compliant repair solutions and engineering dispositions Experience supporting commercial airline or regional airline operations Strong understanding of aircraft structures, repair development, and fleet reliability Ability to perform technical investigations and provide engineering recommendations with minimal oversight Strong written and verbal communication skills for customer and maintenance team interaction Previous experience supporting a Part 145 Repair Station A&P License Maintenance Control experience Aircraft Cabin Entertainment ( IFE ) experience Avionics engineering or troubleshooting experience Corporate aviation experience Airline engineering experience supporting operators such as: Delta Air Lines American Airlines United Airlines Southwest Airlines Alaska Airlines Envoy Air Republic Airways SkyWest Airlines Reliability engineering or fleet performance management experience Experience supporting Aircraft on Ground ( AOG ) events Valid passport and ability to travel up to 10% To view full details and how to apply, please login or create a Job Seeker account
