Currently they are looking to add a Senior Safety Critical System Engineer to their team in Indianapolis, IN.

ARP4754 and DO-178C experience The Certification Engineer shall liaise with control system development engineers and airworthiness authorities to create certification work products that satisfy the certification basis of the program. This will include creation of requirements, design, verification and traceability evidence for lifecycle data created during development of the control and monitoring system. Key Accountabilities Evaluate and agree control system requirements with stakeholders. Capture evidence of requirement validation, use cases, design constraints, quality, safety and security attributes, etc., in models and work products. Allocate control system requirements to test vehicles defined in the verification plan. Analysis of control system functional behavior, including modelling and simulation, to demonstrate that the design meets validated requirements. Develop and review control system tests that will provide evidence to demonstrate that the control system requirements have been satisfied. Provides targeted testing of control system functionality to support problem investigation and problem closures and customer issues. Liaises with other disciplines to understand functional performance capabilities of components of the system to facilitate effective component design. Develop the knowledge required to provide advice to project teams and be able to create, search, and reuse knowledge with some guidance from established practitioners. Produce reports to document the work carried out. Working with the guidance of Control System Specialists undertakes the detailed specification, definition and integration of the system, ensuring that it will accommodate any identified hazards. Key Experiences and any Qualifications Working knowledge of aircraft engine interfaces, component technology and behavior during normal and abnormal operation, and software and hardware development process constraints. A working appreciation of associated engineering disciplines. Proficient in design and analysis tools. Professional courage to highlight areas of concern and risk with regard to suitability of a product to meet its requirements in a safe and functionally appropriate way. An ability to interpret test results and provide an informed opinion or conclusion as to the outcome of the analysis. This includes an understanding of measurement uncertainty. A demonstrated ability to manage tasks to completion ensuring that the relevant areas of the business are appropriately informed. An ability to identify and manage risk in collaboration with team members. Self-motivated, with keen attention to detail. Strong problem-solving skills, and an ability to understand the level of analysis required. Good time management skills able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Dynamically respond to evolving objectives and emerging opportunities while working in coordination with a multidisciplinary, energetic team of engineers and scientists.
