Job Description

  • Description:
  • Lockheed Martin's Missile and Fire Control is seeking engineering internship students to support our Special Operations Forces Global Logistics Support Services \(SOF GLSS\) program, which is critical to the success of US servicemen and women deployed throughout the world\.
Our mission is to rapidly and properly equip the SOF community with the best possible systems and equipment\. This includes modifications to helicopters, fixed wing aircraft, ground assault vehicles and underwater vehicles to support the SOF operators\. As an engineering internship student you may work in a variety of engineering functions such as design, systems & test, or aero sciences\. In addition to gaining valuable experience to enhance your engineering acumen you will also be directly contributing to the safety and security of our nation\. This internship may satisfy co
  • op requirements at colleges/universities\. This is for a fall semester full
  • time position \(40 hours/weeks\) in a variety of opportunities including basic engineering tasks related to quality, design, analysis, test, integration, and systems engineering\. Candidate must be available to work onsite up to 40 hours per week between for full duration of Fall Semester \(8/24/26

  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Enrolled in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math \(STEM\) major at an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology \(ABET\) accredited university
  • Preference for Mechanical, Electrical, and Aerospace Engineering
  • This candidate must be a US citizen
  • Desired Skills:
  • Computer Aided Design \(CAD\) experience \(CATIA preferred but any parametric 3D program will suffice\)
  • Basic knowledge of Finite Element Analysis \(FEA\) or engineering simulation tools
  • Security Clearance Statement:
  • This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration\.

Remote Telework:
The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility\. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process\.

  • Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees\. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed\. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits\.
