Description:
Field Service Engineer - Propulsion SME (C-130J)
Location:
Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia LockheedMartin is looking for a senior propulsion subject-matter expert to provide on-site technical support for the C-130J fleet. The incumbent will act as the primary liaison for all propulsion-related maintenance, inspection, logistics, and operational matters, ensuring safe and optimal aircraft performance for our Saudi Arabian customer. What You Will Be Doing
  • Act as the propulsion SME for the C-130J, diagnosing and resolving engine, nacelle, and accessory issues on-site.
  • Review and approve daily maintenance actions, ensuring compliance with OEM manuals, MIL-STD-2090, and customer procedures.
  • Coordinate logistics for propulsion-related spare parts, maintain inventory, and forecast needs to minimize downtime.
  • Deliver hands-on training and technical briefings to customer technicians and pilots.
  • Ensure all work follows safety regulations and LockheedMartin quality standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for propulsion queries, providing timely updates and supporting audit readiness.
This position requires significant interface with customer and LM Aero personnel at all levels. Selected candidate must be proficient in computer software programs and tools to include MS Office and Excel. Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Must pass Medical Physical after offer acceptance. Must possess a valid US passport to begin work. Basic Qualifications:
  • ≥5years experience with C-130J or comparable turboprop/jet propulsion systems.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret clearance.
  • Strong communication skills, cultural adaptability, and a proactive problem-solving approach.
  • Willingness to relocate and live on-base for the contract duration.
Desired Skills:
  • Deep knowledge of Rolls-Royce
AE 2100D3
engines and related diagnostic tools.
  • Prior experience as a C-130 Lockheed Martin Field Service Engineer.
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline.
  • Holder of commercial certifications and licenses are a plus.
  • Planning and scheduling of the approved maintenance program for aircraft operations and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated experience with effectively interfacing with aircraft operators.
  • Work and communicate well in a team environment.
  • Learn quickly and work independently in a fast paced business tempo environment.
