Job Description

Postdoctoral Fellows are sought to join the Nanobio Materials and Robotics group at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (NHMFL) and the
FAMU-FSU
College of Engineering. The individuals will work on a series of projects related to the development of small scale wirelessly controlled bio-actuators for sensing and transport applications. Applicants interested in synthetic biology, design, fabrication, and swarm control of biologically inspired colloidal robots and molecular motors are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities include training undergraduate and graduate students in the fabrication, characterization, and manipulation of micro/nano scale soft devices for biomedical and environmental applications. The position offers a wide range of professional development opportunities though the NHMFL, Florida A&M University (FAMU), and Florida State University (FSU), including participation in exciting government funded frontier science and engineering, mentoring experience, and the potential for initiating new independent research.
Experience and Skills Sought :
PhD in Engineering and/or Biophysics or any other relevant discipline. Experience with control systems, synthetic biology, and/or micro/cell biology. A track record of quality publications with excellent writing skills is essential. Experience with magnetic tweezers, laser tweezers, and/or acoustic tweezers Automation and/or instrument design experience. Interdisciplinary knowledge and skills bridging engineering to soft matter science. Team player with outstanding leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
Start Date :
Evaluation of applications will begin immediately, with a start dates as early as July 2026. The position is for an initial period of one year, with a possible extension to a second and third year. Please send applications to Prof.
