Login to bookmark this Job Overview A postdoc position available in the Imaging Research Division, Department of Radiology, University of Pittsburgh (Shandong Wu) Successful applicants will join a world-class research environment working closely with multidisciplinary basic scientists and clinicians. Our group is composed of diverse research faculty members working in multi-modality medical imaging analysis and clinical applications. UPMC is the leading integrated health care delivery system and recognized a Top-Ten institution in the America's Best Hospitals Honor Roll. The Pitt Radiology Department is one of the nation's largest and most productive radiology departments with nationally recognized clinical programs in breast cancer. Pittsburgh has been named many times the "most livable city" by The Economist and Forbes. The position is available starting from around September 2015 (starting date is somewhat flexible) with yearly renewable contract. Initial appointment of the job is for one year, with possibility for renewal for up to three years, based on performance evaluation and funding availability.

We are looking for highly self-motived applicants with excellent research background and scholarly track-records in imaging analysis. The specific postdoc position will focus on developing quantitative breast imaging (mainly breast MRI) analysis algorithms and apply them to process large-scale real clinical image data for clinical research studies. Ideal candidates should have a PhD (or equivalent) degree (by the starting time of the job), a strong first-degree in computer science, information science, electronic engineering, bioengineering, or closely related subjects. Skills and experience on image processing, computer vision, and machine learning are preferable. Strong programming experience in Matlab and/or C/C++ is required. Experience in biomedical imaging (such as MRI, CT, X-ray, Ultrasound, etc.), quantitative imaging biomarker development, or clinical research studies is desirable but not required. Additional knowledge in biostatistics and experience of using relate d software are a plus.

Applicants should have excellent ability working independently and collaboratively, and demonstrated skills on oral and written communication in English.
