Summary The Temporary Draftsman / CAD Technician will support GF Piping Systems by creating and validating accurate technical drawings, dimensions, and product documentation for existing PVC and CPVC product offerings. This role is intended to close gaps in missing product sizes and dimensional records so that complete, standardized CAD, BIM, Revit, and Plant 3D digital product data can be made available to global customers and design engineers. The position will work closely with R D, Product Engineering, and Global Product Data stakeholders to convert existing product knowledge, legacy records, sketches, measurements, and partial documentation into organized drawing packages suitable for downstream digital model creation and data publication. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Create and revise 2D technical product drawings using approved GF drafting practices, standards, and documentation expectations. Research, verify, and document critical product dimensions for product sizes and configurations currently lacking complete drawing records. Develop dimensioned source drawings and supporting dimensional datasets required for CAD, BIM, Revit, and Plant 3D model development. Review existing drawings, catalogs, specifications, legacy documentation, and physical samples to identify missing or inconsistent dimensional information. Coordinate with Product Engineers, R D Engineers, Technical Product Management, and Global Product Data teams to resolve drawing discrepancies and documentation gaps. Support accurate representation of PVC and CPVC piping system components, fittings, and related product configurations within global digital product offerings. Maintain organized file structure, revision records, and drawing packages in accordance with GF document control expectations. Assist with dimensional verification activities, including measurement coordination, drawing checks, and review of product data for completeness and accuracy. Support other drafting, CAD, and engineering Required Skills/Abilities Strong interpersonal skills Speak and write English clearly and concisely. Good team worker Communication Team Skills Planning Skills Computer literate Strong math skills, Mechanical skills Ability to use shop equipment Knowledgeable of safety, health, environmental, and HR regulations as well as policies and practices Education and Experience Associate degree, technical certificate, or equivalent practical experience in Drafting, CAD Technology, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design, or a related technical field. Entry-level to intermediate drafting experience preferred; prior industrial product documentation experience is beneficial. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered. Working Conditions / Physical Requirements Typical office, engineering, laboratory, and factory environments with possible exposure to production equipment noise and non-climate-controlled manufacturing areas. Work may require standing, walking, and occasional work around laboratory, shop, or manufacturing equipment. Work may involve handling or measuring product samples and lifting materials or products up to 30 pounds. Required use of personal protective equipment may include safety glasses, hearing protection, and work boots when working in lab, shop, or manufacturing areas. This role is expected to be primarily project-focused and may require coordination with local and global stakeholders. Expected Deliverables Accurate, dimensioned product drawings for missing sizes and configurations within the assigned product scope. Verified dimensional datasets and supporting documentation suitable for downstream CAD, BIM, Revit, and Plant 3D model creation. Organized drawing packages and supporting records that help close gaps in global digital product offerings. Documented questions, assumptions, and discrepancy resolutions for engineering review and future reference.

$30.00 - $36.00 per hour
