JOB SUMMARY
Prepares clear, complete and accurate working plans and detail drawings from rough or detailed sketches.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Competencies:
Makes final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimension or parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to the whole structure or project. Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings. Makes any adjustments or changes as necessary. Inks in lines and letters on pencil drawings as required. Draws charts for representation of statistical data. Draws finished designs from sketches. Uses computer assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and software. Qualifications
OTHER COMPETENCIES
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Abilities:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Blueprint Reading:
Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Design software and Word Processing software. Education and/or
Experience:
A Mechanical/Drafting Associate Technical Degree. One year college or technical school and three (3) years experience/and or training in detailed assembly and diagram drawings; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and depth perception. Compensation In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $24.00-$35.00. Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
