We are hiring a CAD Designer to prepare technical drawings for solid waste and loading logistics systems and support our Project Managers and Design Manager. This is a detail-oriented position that requires strong CAD skills, the ability to read architectural plans, and good problem-solving skills. The position involves developing trash equipment layouts, designing systems within architectural plans, and preparing truck turning studies. The role also involves coordinating with Project Managers, other designers, architects, engineers, contractors, developers, and other consultants to identify design challenges and develop practical solutions. Responsibilities Prepare CAD drawings for trash, recycling, and loading logistics systems Read and interpret architectural floor plans and project documents Develop equipment layouts, trash room plans, chute systems, and loading area designs Prepare truck turning and access studies Coordinate designs with architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings Identify design conflicts and space constraints related to waste handling and equipment Incorporate comments and revisions from Project Managers, architects, and other consultants Apply ATM design standards and details consistently throughout project drawings Identify and interpret relevant building and fire code requirements and apply them to inform design decisions Review drawings for accuracy and completeness before submission Track deadlines and deliverables for assigned projects Coordinate with Project Managers, architects, engineers, contractors, developers, and other consultants throughout the design process Requirements Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoTURN Ability to read and understand architectural and construction drawings Strong attention to detail and accuracy Organized and able to manage multiple project deadlines Clear and professional communication Strong problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a project team Experience with Revit is a plus Familiarity with building codes, construction practices, or equipment design is a plus Experience working in a Mac (macOS) environment is a plus Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Industrial Design, Drafting, or a related field, or equivalent work experience This position requires daily attendance at our Emeryville office during the first three months of training. After training, the position transitions to a hybrid schedule with a minimum of two days per week in the office.
