Duties Develop detailed cabinet designs and interior layouts using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhinoceros 3D, and 3ds Max. Collaborate closely with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and project scope, translating these insights into compelling design concepts. Prepare comprehensive construction documents, including plans, elevations, sections, and detailed drawings for manufacturing and installation. Utilize Adobe Creative Suite tools like Photoshop and Illustrator to create visual presentations and mood boards that communicate design ideas effectively. Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless execution of designs within budget and timeline constraints. Conduct site visits for measurements, inspections, and quality assurance during renovation or remodeling projects. Assist in lighting design and sales efforts by selecting appropriate fixtures that complement the overall aesthetic while considering lighting sales strategies. Manage multiple projects simultaneously through effective project management skills, ensuring timely delivery of all design phases. Stay updated on industry trends related to interior design, cabinetry materials, color theory, and construction techniques to continually enhance your craft. Qualifications Proven experience in interior design or cabinetry drafting with a strong portfolio demonstrating technical proficiency in CAD drafting tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhinoceros 3D, and 3ds Max. Knowledge of drafting standards, construction methods, renovation processes, and remodeling practices. Strong understanding of color theory and lighting design principles to create harmonious interiors. Excellent project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines efficiently. Experience in contracts management and budgeting within interior or cabinetry projects is preferred. Effective communication skills for collaborating with clients, vendors, and team members.
