Job Description
Job Title:
CAD Designer Job Description The role of the CAD Designer is to provide design, field engineering services, CAD services, and construction management services to achieve company objectives in manufacturing facilities, processing lines, and infrastructure. The designer will prepare designs for equipment and processing systems, manage drawings and documents, and design plant layouts and equipment stackups. The position requires a strong command of design management systems and the ability to create and maintain P&ID's for process and utility systems. Responsibilities Prepare designs for equipment and processing systems, including general layouts and detailed designs. Manage drawings and documents to meet technical, business, and scheduling requirements. Design plant layouts, equipment stackups, and demolition layouts. Develop and manage design management systems. Design and create P&ID's for process systems or utility systems. Maintain process flow diagrams (PFDs), utility flow diagrams (UFDs), electrical schematics, layouts, and detail drawings. Perform process analysis of new and existing technologies and systems. Specify equipment and materials. Review ergonomics, code requirements, and sanitation/GMP/food safety aspects of projects. Support, implement, and maintain food safety practices as required through SQF. Complete job duties in a manner that supports plant safety, food safety, quality, and environmental practices. Collaborate with cross-functional project teams and facility management on improvement projects. Essential Skills 5+ years of working experience with CAD in a manufacturing environment. Strong experience with design management systems (e.g., vault, adept, windows). Working knowledge of AutoCAD. Ability to utilize Project, Word, Excel, Adobe Professional Suite, and Outlook. Effective planning and organizational skills. Concise oral, verbal, and written communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Associates degree preferred. Experience in a food-related environment is advantageous. Work Environment Collaborate with another designer, senior designer, and design manager. Work cross-functionally with project managers, managers, corporate members, and third-party vendors. The environment fosters innovation and integration, particularly with the recent expansion of the capital budget and the acquisition of multiple pet food businesses. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Lakeville, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $50.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
