Commercial Sewing is looking for a CAD Designer / Mechanical Design Technician to create production-ready designs, improve manufacturing processes, and support engineering projects from start to finish. This position combines engineering design, manufacturing support, and hands-on problem solving. Responsibilities Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed drawings Apply GD&T principles and engineering standards Design tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing aids Review products for manufacturability and assembly efficiency Support prototype development and production implementation Create engineering documentation and work instructions Collaborate with production teams to resolve technical issues Maintain engineering records and revisions Assist with continuous improvement projects Qualifications Associate degree or equivalent technical experience 5-7 years of CAD and manufacturing experience Advanced SolidWorks skills preferred Understanding of mechanical design principles Experience in fabrication or manufacturing environments Strong organizational and troubleshooting abilities Preferred Experience ERP systems (Epicor preferred) Textile or sewn products manufacturing Fixture design and development Shop tooling and fabrication
