Due to continued growth, our Power Delivery group is seeking a Substation Designer - Physical Designer in one of the following office locations:
  • Houston, TX
  • Orlando, FL
  • Overland Park, KS
  • Kennesaw, GA
  • Remote This position may be filled as a Drafter or Designer.
Job title and job level will be determined based upon candidate's qualifications and experience. #LI-MB1 Responsibilities Imagine a day where you're designing the backbone of the power grid—drafting substation layouts and details that keep energy flowing safely. You collaborate with engineers across disciplines, solve real-world challenges, and see your designs come to life in the field. Every detail you contribute will help power entire communities—safely, reliably, and sustainably.
    Substation Design & Drafting:
    Develop or draft electric substation drawings, including General Arrangements, Elevations, Conduit Plans/Details, Grounding Plans/Details, Foundation Plans, Lightning Protection plans, and control building layouts. Work closely with the Civil Engineering department to develop substation foundation and structure detail drawings
      Engineering Analysis & Calculations:
      Perform basic substation design calculations lightning protection, voltage drop, and conduit fill
        Collaboration & Quality Assurance:
        Work closely with peers to ensure accurate and on-time delivery of electrical design that meets client and industry standards, specifications, and good engineering practices
          Field Support:
          Providing on-site technical support for select ENERCON clients during construction and commissioning as required #LI-MD1
