CAD Designer 5.0 5.0 out of 5 stars Ocala, FL 34481 $28.00 - $31.25 an hour - Full-time Colen Built Development 2 reviews $28.00 - $31.25 an hour - Full-time The CAD Designer is responsible for overseeing the architectural and structural design aspects of the residential building process. This position strives for zero-defect construction documents. Responsibilities:
Interprets and prepares clear, concise and accurate working plans with detail drawings from work orders & architectural renderings Implements applicable building codes Oversees permit-start packages (blueprints, plot plans, truss, etc.) Maintains, revises & updates existing plans to reflect feature and specification changes, with an emphasis on value engineering and office-related cost variance reduction Recommends new plan enhancements to department head, estimator, etc. Completes drawings from Design Development Stage to Final Working Drawings Specifies materials, trims, fixtures, and construction assemblies Prepares and maintains floor plans for marketing and sales brochures Provides complete sets of residential construction drawings for permitting in a timely manner Ensures drawings are fully coordinated with structural calculations and that drawings are sealed and signed by designated engineer Coordinates with other departments on project specifications and product features to assure accurate representation Reviews & approves shop drawings for individual structures including Roof Truss, Surveys/Site plans, Product Approvals, HVAC Layouts and Energy Calculations Facilitates field repairs and construction modifications by generating details and coordinating between superintendents, sub-contractors and engineers Maintains an open line of communication with city Plan Reviewers and Inspectors Completes, logs, and tracks all Lot Specific Permit Preps Maintains professionalism at all times Maintains clean and orderly work environment Performs all duties in adherence to Company standards Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward all residents, visitors and co-workers Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required Additional specialized technical courses or equivalent preferred 5+ years of experience and solid background in producing complete construction documents using AutoCAD release 2020 or newer required
Skills and Knowledge:
Must be able to read, write and understand English with strong written and verbal business communication and presentation skills Computer skills, including Microsoft Office required Working knowledge of building systems and construction methods, engineering practices, mathematics, and other physical sciences required Working knowledge of applicable residential and building codes required Knowledge and experience with Revit Architecture preferred Highly organized and efficient, with the ability to multi-task
