CAD/Product Designer
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented designer to turn rough 3D concepts into finished, functional CAD designs using SolidWorks . Our work primarily focuses on custom children's play and sensory equipment. The ideal candidate will have a background in mechanical engineering, industrial design, or a related field , with a strong understanding of materials, construction, functionality, and safety. Daily Work Environment Therapy Gyms is a small team of fewer than 15 people, meaning your work will have a direct impact on our products and projects. Along with refining our existing catalog, we are continuously developing custom and modular designs for unique projects. You will work directly with the owner and sales team for project details, guidance, and feedback. We are looking for a go-getter who takes initiative and can work independently —someone who can take a rough concept, develop a strong first revision on their own, and confidently bring it to the team for review. We value someone who can make thoughtful design decisions while also being open to feedback, revisions, and collaboration . Our goal is to find a long-term designer who is goal and growth oriented. Responsibilities Develop finished CAD designs from rough 3D concepts Create detailed drawings and designs for manufacturing Ensure designs are safe, functional, durable, and practical to build Collaborate with our team to refine designs and solve manufacturing challenges Make design revisions based on feedback and production requirements Consider the needs of both neurodivergent and neurotypical children when developing designs Qualifications Proficiency in SolidWorks Mechanical engineering, industrial design, or similar background Strong understanding of product design and manufacturing Excellent attention to detail Ability to work independently and take initiative Ability to think critically about safety, functionality, and usability Open to feedback and comfortable with an iterative design process Experience with children's products, playground equipment, furniture, or similar products is a plus
•We will be relocating buildings to our new location in Alpharetta within the next 6 months.
Pay:
$35.00 - $50.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
