Job Description
Job Summary Georgia Baler & Compactor is seeking a skilled SolidWorks Draftsman to join our growing team. This position is responsible for creating detailed manufacturing drawings, designing custom equipment and components, and supporting fabrication and production with accurate engineering documentation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and experienced in designing weldments, fabricated assemblies, and industrial equipment. Responsibilities Create 2D and 3D designs using SolidWorks. Produce detailed manufacturing and fabrication drawings. Design custom components and assemblies for recycling and waste equipment. Revise existing drawings and maintain drawing revisions. Work closely with fabrication, machining, and production teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable. Generate bills of materials (BOMs) and assembly documentation. Assist with product improvements and custom engineering projects. Ensure drawings comply with company standards and industry best practices. Qualifications Proficiency in SolidWorks . Experience creating fabrication and manufacturing drawings. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints. Knowledge of sheet metal, structural steel, welding, and mechanical assemblies. Strong problem-solving and organizational skills. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of CAD design experience. Experience designing industrial equipment, compactors, balers, conveyors, or hydraulic systems. Can train if no experience. Familiarity with manufacturing processes and fabrication techniques. Associate's degree or technical certification in Drafting, Mechanical Design, or a related field.
