Company Overview Ice House America, headquartered in Moultrie, Georgia, designs, manufactures, and services automated ice, water, and bagged-ice vending machines ("Ice Houses") used by retailers across the country. Our Moultrie facility handles engineering, fabrication, assembly, and manufacturing operations for the full product line. We are looking for a detail-oriented CAD Drafter / Draftsman to support our engineering team by producing accurate manufacturing drawings and maintaining reliable Bills of Materials (BOMs) that keep our production floor and supply chain running smoothly. Position Summary The CAD Drafter / Draftsman is responsible for creating, revising, and maintaining detailed manufacturing and fabrication drawings for Ice House America's current product line (structural frames, sheet metal enclosures, panels, mechanical assemblies, and related components), partnering with our team to develop drawings for our innovation products, managing up-to-date drawings for each state, and for building and maintaining accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) that support production, purchasing, and quality. This role works closely with engineers, production supervisors, welders/fabricators, and the purchasing team to ensure drawings and BOMs are accurate, current, and released in a controlled manner. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Create, revise, and maintain 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D CAD models for structural, sheet metal, and mechanical components and assemblies used in Ice House America products. Translate engineer redlines, sketches, and verbal specifications into clear, production-ready drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, GD&T, materials, and finish call-outs. Build and maintain multi-level Bills of Materials (BOMs) for all products and configurations, ensuring part numbers, descriptions, quantities, and assembly structure are accurate and current. Process engineering change requests (ECRs/ECNs): update drawings and BOMs, manage revision history, and communicate changes to production, purchasing, and quality teams. Maintain document and revision control for drawings and BOMs within the company's PDM/ERP system, following established part-numbering and naming conventions. Generate cut lists, flat patterns, and nesting layouts to support CNC, laser, and plasma cutting operations on the shop floor. Collaborate with engineering, production, and purchasing to identify and correct drawing errors, fit-up issues, or BOM discrepancies before and during builds. Support new product development and prototype builds by producing drawings and preliminary BOMs for first-run units. Periodically verify drawings against as-built units on the production floor and take field measurements as needed. Maintain an organized CAD file library and support general engineering documentation needs as assigned. Required Qualifications Associate degree or technical certificate in CAD/Drafting, Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience. 2+ years of CAD drafting experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial equipment environment. Proficiency with 3D CAD software (AutoCAD and Inventory strongly preferred, including sheet metal and weldment tools). Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining Bills of Materials, ideally within an ERP or PDM system. Working knowledge of GD&T and common fabrication processes: welding, sheet metal forming, machining, and finishing/painting. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; able to manage multiple drawings and revisions accurately under production deadlines. Comfortable reading engineering specifications and communicating directly with shop floor personnel. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office for BOM management and documentation. Preferred Qualifications Prior drafting experience with outdoor equipment, vending machines, trailers, modular structures, or similar welded/sheet-metal products. Experience with Syspro. Basic familiarity with electrical, refrigeration, or plumbing schematics. Physical Demands & Work Environment This role is primarily desk-based in an office setting attached to the manufacturing facility, with regular visits to the production floor to verify drawings, take measurements, and coordinate with fabrication staff. Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs may be required. Required personal protective equipment (safety glasses, closed-toe shoes, hearing protection as applicable) must be worn while on the production floor, which may involve exposure to noise, temperature variation, and typical light-industrial manufacturing conditions.
