We are seeking a full-time CAD Draftsman to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to work on unique residential projects, collaborating with builders, architects, homeowners, and our production team to create detailed stair designs from concept through fabrication and installation. This position is in-person, not remote. Position Responsibilities Create detailed stair shop drawings using AutoCAD, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction details for customer and architect approval. Review architectural plans and field measurements to develop accurate stair designs and fabrication drawings. Conduct site visits to verify dimensions and existing field conditions. Work directly with customers, builders, and architects in both the field and showroom to discuss stair design options and project requirements. Prepare purchase orders and material takeoffs based on approved drawings. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing and source materials. Collaborate with production and installation teams to ensure designs are accurate, buildable, and meet project requirements. Assist with project documentation and maintain organized drawing files and records. Qualifications Proficiency in AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT with strong 2D drafting skills. Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to perform field measurements and accurately read a tape measure. General construction knowledge and understanding of building methods. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Nice-to-Have Experience Experience in stair design, woodworking, millwork, cabinetry, or custom construction. Experience with CNC programming or CNC manufacturing processes. Familiarity with material takeoffs and purchasing procedures.
